Making do with what you have.

One of the questions posed for the Smooshers blog was "what is the weirdest thing you've ever turned into a clay" It made me stop and wonder. IS there really anything weird if it works?

With  most creative hobbies they can become really expensive. Once you're hooked you want everything out there to continue to create. All you have to do is google "ploymer clay tools" and your jaw drops as the tools load and  if you're like me you can almost hear the cash regester ringing as your wallet shrinks. Shrinking wallets are bad for hobby enjoyment.

Over the years I've learned many of those little adages that spring to life when needed and one of most valuable for me lately is "necessity is the mother of invention".  It is necessary to have tools of some sort to create with ploymer clay. When money is tight is is necessary to look at every thing around you as a possible tool that won't cost a thing.

One such tool of mine was featured on today Smoosher Blog. Why not check it out and while you're there, take some time to visit the other members ArtFire shops and enjoy the talents of this very gifted group.

Finally getting it.

I admit I'm pretty slow when it comes to learning all there is to get this blog up and running. Maybe not quite as slow as this wonderful polymer clay snail I found in Smoosher member Dee's Tamed Creations shop on ArtFire, but a very fitting first photo .

I am always amazed by those who can create minatures. I imagine it takes great patience, steady hands and a good set of eyes. Three things I admit to not having.

A big THANK YOU to Dee for coming to my rescue with simple instructions.
Be sure to visit her shop  : Tamed Creations

Spring

I'm a member of the Polymer Clay Smooshers Guild on ArtFire and today when I checked the site I found the  suggestion for our blogs was Spring!  To many it may seem like a fairly simple thing to write about... however I have determined that I have blog-a-phobia, if there is such a thing. And that is why you'll find my blog fairly empty. Ok, it's REALLY empty. LOL

I am pretty much a computer idiot when it comes to all things technical, it took me days to locate this blog page I started months ago. Now that I've found it what do I do with it?  I've always been told that for any new endevor you simply begin at the beginning. So here I am "Springing" into action and attempting to simply begin.

Now that I have some words typed in here I really need to learn how to add photos.
( long pause while I attempted to upload photas and it did not work!)
I'll leave that for another day, the goal today was to simply post SOMETHING!!!

and I believe all I have to do now is hit the publish post button and I'll be on my way into this new world of blogging...
New beginnings, I guess thats what Spring is all about for me.
Thank you Star for giving me that little extra push I needed today!
